Chalice volunteers are the reason we are able to direct such a high proportion of donated funds to children and families who need them. In our office and across the country, men, women and children who believe in our mission are the most powerful advocates we have. Speak for Chalice as a “Chalice Champion”
As a current child sponsor we invite you to start by assisting our Deacons at parish appeals, and by sharing our campaign materials with your network on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
Chalice Champions across Canada speak on behalf of Chalice at parishes, schools and community events in their area. You do not have to be a trained speaker or great orator, we welcome anyone who is passionate about helping children and aged living in poverty and has the courage to share about it publicly. We support Champions with preparing their presentations and providing multimedia and promotional materials, as appropriate.
We would love to hear from you if you have the time and interest in supporting us by:
Speaking about Chalice in local Catholic schools and/or community events
Presenting about the Christmas Gift Catalogue at Masses or parish events in your diocese (Oct-Dec)
Conducting a sponsorship appeal in your parish (speaking during Mass about sponsorship and inviting parishioners to become sponsors)
Fundraising for community needs in our sites.
Assisting a deacon to conduct a parish appeal in your area (representing Chalice at an information table and assisting parishioners to sponsor children)
Represent Chalice at an information table at events in your area (e.g. multicultural festivals, conferences, Steubenville, etc.).
Volunteer in our Nova Scotia headquarters
Be a vital member of our Bedford office team. Some roles are year-round, while others are seasonal or per occasion.

Writing prayer cards for supporters who have asked for our prayers
Assisting with the coordination and recognition of parish-based appeals, and school and parish fundraisers

Stuffing and mailing Christmas cards from the children to their sponsors and/or Child Status updates from the sites (seasonal)
Handwriting Christmas Gift Catalogue personalized messages (seasonal)
